The call of the open road

As you are reading this I am on the road to Walt Disney World,… again. The familiar sights and stops of 26 to 95 to 4 are old hat to me by now, have been for quite some time actually. I hope to retrieve a ton of terrific content for the Main Street Gazette while I am away, as well as achieve some headway on a few other projects. Mostly though, I can’t wait to catch up with some close friends I haven’t seen in a while.

A trip around this time last year, as well as on subsequent trips in 2008, yielded a number of friendships I hold near and dear to my heart. It will seem strange to not have several friends there this trip, especially my friend Greg, but they will be there in spirit, as well as through comments on through the Picture Postcards I’d imagine. If you happen to be in Walt Disney World this week, whether on vacation or as part of the festivities surrounding Disney’s Hollywood Studios’ birthday, and see me lurking around with my camera, please feel free to say hello. There is nothing greater than making new friends at the happiest place on earth.

As for those of you staying at home, or that are otherwise abroad, have no fear the Gazette will be here. As always, the Picture Postcards will be published frequently throughout the trip, as well as the regular content you have come to know and love. Additionally, I will also be using Twitter and Facebook to keep everyone abreast of my activities. Along the way, and when I return, look for my reviews of Characters In Flight and Sanaa, details from the Studios’ 20th anniversary, construction photographs, some humorous photo safaris, discussions about often overlooked areas around and near Walt Disney World, Flower and Garden perspectives and photo safaris, and much much more.

I hope everyone has a fun, magical, and safe week, no matter what the road ahead has in store for you.
