Not just epicurean displays by international gourmets

In 1994, McDonald’s teamed up with Disney to create one of the most unique Happy Meal offerings ever to be produced, the Mickey and Friends EPCOT Center Adventure at Walt Disney World. The eight piece collection featured World Showcase and the eight most recognizable characters in the Disney cannon: Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald, Pluto, Chip, Dale, and Daisy.

For those of you who are already a step ahead, that meant only eight of the eleven countries of World Showcase could be represented. The three nations that were not represented in the Happy Meal series were United Kingdom, Italy, and Canada. Happy Meals, as it turns out, are just as popular above the United States northern border as they are here in America. So as to not offend our Canadian cousins, McDonald’s released a slightly different set in Canada, where Dale was their representative and Morocco, Dale’s other alter-ego, was left out of the set.

Presented below is the set, including the Canada variant, with the figures in the natural habitat.

To this day this was still one of the best McDonald Happy Meal toys ever! I still have my set!

Thank you for posting this. I practically squealed in delight when I saw these old Happy Meal toys. I can vividly remember the few that I had. It's an amazing thing to have memories from your childhood that you didn't know were there come suddenly rushing back.

Great post. Awesome title (I've been singing that song in my head since Danny Kaye belted it out in '82), and wonderful pictures. Thanks!

We kept this set as well. At one time we had two sets, but when we married we parted with one of them. Love the pics of the figs in their homelands.
