A final note this week, Swann Auction Galleries will be holding its 20th Century Illustration auction on Thursday, January 24th. This auction is a treasure trove of wonders from my childhood, including pieces from Edward Gorey, Maurice Sendak, Dr. Seuss, Beatrix Potter, and Charles Schultz to name just a few.

It is worth mentioning that there are nineteen pieces from Disney classics. Everyone from Pooh to Shere Khan, Bambi, and the Aristocats make appearances, as well as pieces from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Fantasia, Sleeping Beauty, and Goofy’s Art of Skiing. Oh, and I especially want to mention the 3-tiered Mickey Mouse comic strip that certainly set my heart a flutter.

While I know most of us can’t jump up and start bidding, there may be one or two of you out there who have been wanting to add to your collection. This is the perfect place to start looking! You can get more information about the auction itself at Swann Auction Galleries, and here are just a few images to wet your whistle.
